Quasars / Blazars :: Introduction

Quasars and blazars are one of the most interesting things in the whole universe. Blazars / quasars are just like neutron and pulsars except that they are not stars, they are black holes instead of stars. They both release electromagnetic radiation. Quasars / blazars are created by sucking up so much matter and creating an accretion disk. An accretion disk is where the black hole sucks up the matter and the matter goes around and into it which creates an accretion disk. They release their energy violently with the electromagnetic radiation. Fortunately we are safe from quasars and blazars because they are too far away. The oldest ever discovered quasar is 770 million years younger than our universe. The name is ULAS J1120+0641.

Quasars / Blazars :: Quasars

Quasars are found really far away. Quasars are formed when the supermassive black hole starts eating matter, and releasing jets of electromagnetic radiation or it can form in binary black hole. They release x-rays and infrared rays. Some quasars release gamma rays. There are 200,000 known quasars which are called hyper luminous quasars which are really bright quasars.

One example is a quasar called APM 08279+5255. If a quasar which is pointing at us, it might be a blazar.

The jets of a quasar is about 10 to the power of 41 watts. Quasars are found where the galaxies active galactic nuclei is really powerful. In active galactic nuclei is where the black hole will start sucking up matter and create an accretion disk. One type of quasar is called gravitational lensed quasar where the quasar is gravitationally lensed. One example of this type of quasar is called HE 1104-1805. One quasar which is called 3C 273, which was supposed to undergo five occultations of by the moon. An occultation where an object blocks another object. Quasars be part of binary system. One of the most famous binary quasars is called the twin quasar or QSO 0957+ 561 A/B. Some quasars come in multiple quasars such as QQQ J 1519 +0627. The first ever quadruplet quasars was discovered in 2015.

Quasars / Blazars :: Blazar

Blazars are types of quasars which are more powerful and massive and it are at a center of a giant elliptical galaxy. Blazars emit jets that are pointing on the Earth. The blazar is created the same way as quasars, by sucking up all the matter and creating jets and an accretion disk. The jets go tens of kiloparsecs away from the host galaxy. The jets can go at the speed of light. Blazar generates lots of energy in the form of protons, neutrons, electrons and positrons. Positrons are a type of electron which have the positive charge. The black hole spins really fast and creating a hot accretion disk. Inside the jet streams has UV rays, X rays and Gamma rays. Blazars can change their luminosity like some stars in the Milky Way. One example is a star called UY Scuti, which is a variable star. These type of star blazars are called irregular variable blazars. Many blazars emit radio waves and they may be something else. One example of blazar is called Markarian 421. Relativistic beaming is about the effects of the jet.

Quasars / Blazars :: Conclusion

Quasars / Blazars are the most interesting object in the whole universe. They are very similar to neutron stars and pulsars. They're similar by their jets and they are also similar because of the their rotation and powerful magnetic field. Quasars / Blazars are found from active galactic nuclei. Both are similar to variable stars. Variable star can increase and decrease their luminosity and it can change it size. One type of star called UY Scuti, which is the largest star ever discovered and is also a variable star because of its two first letters U and Y. these type of Quasars / Blazars are very rare. Which one is your favorite?
